What is this pond foam from?

How do you know if the foam is caused strictly by excess DOC or if it is a form of bacterial floc? There is a difference.

A large percentage of skimmate analysis is bacterial in nature, from the studies I have read.
I imagine that would include bacterial floc as well.

Then I would think that the focus would be on what is promoting this accelerated bacterial growth, which is, in fact, beneficial.

Wouldn't that simply be a matter then of increased food for bacteria which leads to an increase in bacterial population which would take care of the foam automatically?
That's what I was alluding to in the first place.;)
