I was perhaps a bit hard on myself when I was younger, but with each passing decade it seems my standards of "perfection" keep dropping. I still strive to be & do things to the best of my ability, but I no longer beat myself up over 'good enough'. ;)

Your replies are interesting.

I had a working theory that the mindset for pondkeeping lent itself to perfectionism.

And WORDLE certainly calls upon that same drive for cautious and painstaking mastery.

Then couple the two ... and you have a blend of detail-mindedness, error-avoidance and the like.

Very interesting ...

For me, Wordle calls upon the drive to procrastinate getting out of my pajamas and continue dawdling around on my computer before getting to the chores of the day. When I **really** don't feel like heading downstairs to start laundry & such, I play Wordle, Connections AND a round of Letterboxed. Now, when the weather is nice, I rush through (or skip) word games in favor of rounding up the dogs, grabbing my camera & heading outdoors to stalk the local wildlife. But such is the life of a retired old lady! LOL :ROFLMAO:
