Wow pecan. Do you know how much rain you ended up with? Glad it didnt flood the pond. You shouldn't have to water any plants for awhile!

Beautiful pictures everyone!

JB LOVE the log water feature!!

News said it was about 1.2 inches in about an hour. That's huge here since we normally only get about 10" a year.

Our soil doesn't absorb much water it just runs off, which why flash floods occur in the desert. I noticed today everything is bone dry again. Need to water :(

All that water pecan and then you need to water sounds like here it all runs off because of clay soil .I was weeding really early this morning while soil was still wet

Turns out, the guy who I got the large rocks from a few weeks ago has a koi pond, and he offered to give me some of his plants. I didn't know what I was getting, but I got them tonight and it appears to be Sweet Flag and Blue Flag Iris! Of course, that's awesome to me regardless, but even better since they're natives!

Also, I noticed my Orange Milkweed starting to bloom today! I'm thrilled to see one of my favorite plants flowering again. (y)

Have had green water
tee hee... me too... cleared up a few days ago. First the string algae was real bad - all over the water lily stems. Cleaned out all the string algae and then the green water came. Took two more weeks for the pond plants to finally take over and clear the water.

I will miss Mrs. Duck's company when she leaves to raise her young. My two large Bull Frogs left a few weeks ago so there's not too much life around my pond right now. I have been seeing a new small Bullfrog that looks to have moved in, but of the 12 Green Frogs I had, I have maybe three now, and only one comes out every day.

Your pond area is always beautiful, JB! I hope your little green frogs didn't become bullfrog food. Large bullfrogs are highly predatory and will eat anything breathing they can fit in their mouths. In many areas of the west coast, invasive bullfrogs have decimated native frog populations.

Thanks!
The Bullfrogs never bothered the Green Frogs, often sitting side by side. The Bulls left before the Green Frogs did, so I don't think that was the problem. Possibly all headed out to a better mating location.
