The only problem I have with pellets is they sink to fast and you don't get the enjoyment of watching them sucking them in at the top of the water .I get the osi treats from pet mountain about 3 dollars a bag for the smaller bag .They have cute shapes too and smell really great

Sissy I have only floating pellets that don't sink ever. I use the Tetra Spring/Fall and the Wardley's pellets. My fish love um!

Both of them list only one animal product (fish meal). Laguna Premium lists that plus krill meal, shrimp meal and fish liver meal. Personally I prefer that my fish get as much animal-based food in their diet as possible during the warm weather. And look for a crude protein content of around 30%. John

I have been told that corn is not real good for them, they just pass it, no nutrient value. If corn is listed have it low on the list.

Well not home yet, just got off the cruise boat, overfed............back on normal food again. We fly home tuesday. All the fish seem to be swimming in the pond, nets still up. Searched for mr heron, didn't see him on a quick back search. And you said you have not seen him, so maybe the sucker gave up.................maybe.

Right now mine have been getting ciclid food that red bag stuff, had some still in sealed bags from my arizona pond. Blanking on the name right now. Well right now they are actually getting the wheatgerm food, which does not have any corn in it. (can't recall the name of it either..........lol, but got it at petsmart)

With the next buy of food I will be looking for food with less or no corn in it.

Oh ok well welcome back to land then, lol! I never saw the heron at all the whole time. He's prolly waiting for you to get home.
I'm gonna check around for some food too w/ more protein in it. But also read that you don't want too much protein or can foul the water more. Wondering how much is too much.........happy medium thingy I guess.

Think it is better just to stay with food you raised fish with ,they like it and are used to it .Look at the foods they say are good for us do we eat it because they say so no .I guess it is really up to what you want to do or want to spend on food or what you budget allows .I guess if you add supplements and you have healthy happy fish and they are alive and swimming you are fine .So feed what works for you and has worked for you .
