Going to Mom's about 30 min. away. All the family will be there. About 35 people from four generations. I get stressed out from being in a crowd, even if its my own family, but I have to go and see everybody. The food is worth all the stress too.

Gordy, touche'! I won't be coming to your house if you're gone. LOL I, too have animals I leave at home when I'm gone, but have the neighbor kids come and feed them. Cats and dogs can go for a weekend get away, though, with extra food and litter boxes. :) No monitor lizards, though. I have not seen anything on the Black Friday midnight to 10 a.m. sales that is tempting me, so think I'll just stay home this year. My son is coming over after all on Fri so will be cooking turkey and all the fixings! Woohoo!
JW, hope you're feeling better soon!!!

They are promising sunshine here today, too, Addy, so I'm, anxious to get out to the pond again, try to get rid of some of that darn string algae! And, Minnowman, sometimes it's just necessary to put yourself in a stressful situation to keep the family peace, huh?! I love it, but I know large gatherings are not for everyone. Good food is always a magnet.

We don't have the large family gatherings anymore since my dad passed. So much conflict, at this point family is sort of on the outs.........
I don't see any string algae, did leave some bottom junk here and there for the frogs, tads, and snails to live in over the winter.

The pump is still running, still have frogs that jump in every time I walk by. And the darn apple tree has new growth on it.

It's almost 1 here, and the sun is finally TRYING to come through the fog or cloud cover, whatever it is! Temps are not raising very fast without the sunshine. Have the tree up, ready to put ornaments on. Inside of house is decorated, since I don't do too much. Then going to put up outside stuff (3 deer, and lights). Christmas cut out cookies will be baked this evening, so they can be frosted and decorated tomorrow with my son and older brother. It's my family tradition, pictures of decorating Christmas cookies. :) And, I may just head out early, before my brother wakes up, and do some Black Friday shopping in the a.m. LOL

It's almost 1 here now Patti, must be a few hours later where you are now. We have no sunshine and plenty of rain and wind is picking up but that is traditionally what November is like here. Lot's of storms! Have the fire going in the wood stove and a small turkey cooking in the oven. Smells good throughout the house. We will just chill and relax by ourselves today and enjoy the peacefulness. Thankful for all you cyber friends of mine!

It turned out to be one beautiful day here. Sunny, just mildly breezy and 70°F at 3:23 pm. I went down to my cabin and got my boat out and parked it in the barn and put my mower away for the season and fixed the gate for my lane. Had to come back home for a short time, but it is too nice to be inside, I think I am going back to the cabin and enjoy watching the river flow by! What a gorgeous Thanksgiving!

It is always nice when after some cold and storms to just sit back on a warm day and enjoy .I took the dogs for a walk and set out on the front porch swing with a glass of wine and the warm sun .I had several cardinals in the bird feeder fighting for the good seeds

Only almost 3:30 here and going to cook the potatoes etc. soon. Hubby is watching old shows of Outer Limits on-line using my little netbook hooked up to the big t.v. Works good and that's how I've been watching Dexter.
My stomach is rumbling for chow now!

KoiGuy, you are probably what I am going to feel like this time tomorrow. I'm fixing turkey meal tomorrow when my son can be here. Had Italian Beef to eat on today. Sun finally showed itself around 2, and it was beautiful outside! Got tree up and inside decorations done, outside decorations done and all boxes put away, then made 2 batched of cut out Christmas cookies. We will frost and decorate them tomorrow. It's a holiday tradition of mind since I was a kid. Going to be me frosting, and my son and brother decorating them. Always fun to see how they turn out when others decorate them. :)
I'm also very thankful for my cyber friends, J.W.! It's like there is always someone to say hello or chat with on here, read what others are doing. I love it! Thanks everyone from me, too!
