Hi Dave. Did you know Koi don't have stomachs? The food they eat gets absorbed in their gut over a few hours after eating. If you want your fish to grow you should feed small amounts more frequently. A large amount of food at once is not any benefit and is actually a detriment because it can fowl the water. Also they will find natural food in the pond and do not "need" the food we give them as much as people think they do. If you see your fish gasping for air that is a bad sign. Do everything you can to add dissolved oxygen to the water. Definitely don't turn off any of your water features. Also I would keep chlorinated water away from anything that goes in the pond. It will kill beneficial bacteria and also chlorine can harm the gills of your fish. For most ponds the less you do the better off the fish are!
