DamnStill here! did a strike in one of the loop ponds. No fish that I am aware of but a lot of frogs. Which are probably hiding due to the cold. The alert, the sighting, the slow attack , the miss, it came up with nothing.

Like fisherman i can understand it...but i'm by the side of fishes...heron = enemiesI love watching them, this one stood in the same place for over a hour. Unreal patience.
dayum; I've missed a lot of the show! Better fortify....lol except the first strike he has come up empty. You don't see it raise its head to toss the food down.
I have modified the net, will keep working on it. That is one reason I just watch and don't chase the heron away. It lets me know any weak spots we might have. Which it found.
The small loop ponds only have fish in them if eggs of fry made it that far. I have not seen any recently. I do not cover them.
The first time they went crazy it flew away, now it totally ignores them. Even if out on the deck barking.I WAS gonna say put lil bear on duty but apparently, this heron knows he's all bark and no bite, hey??
