what about a 3 tier water fall fountain that I have. The water gets dirty I empty it as much as possible and someone suggested a small amount of bleach that worked. Will this accomplish the same? Thanks The basin arrived the pump should come today then I can start gathering it all together.

Same thing. The tablets dissolved slowly. Liquid bleach will dissipate fairly quickly.

Thanks I ordered the tablets. Here are 2 spots I'm debating on putting it. I need to get some Stone to hide the basin. I'm going to use Mexican stones for the top of the basin. I know there will be water displacement when the water splashes on the rocks off the basin I need to trial and error one I get it started this weekend.

I know there will be water displacement when the water splashes on the rocks off the basin

A general rule used by Water Feature contractors is to allow allow for a 3 foot diameter area for each 1 foot in waterfall height. This will vary depending on the type rock used to cover the reservoir surface.

So a 1ft waterfall height 3 ft diameter I should make sure there is rock? I just don't want to have it running and come home from work to see a pump run dry. Does it matter where on the basin the water should drop onto? Should I make the water drop in the center of the basin? I will be working on this over the weekend. I need to get stones around my yard to cover the basin to make it look more natural.

I am not sure that you understood my post. You should allow a distance of 1.5 feet in all directions to contain the splash from a 1 foot waterfall. For waterfall with a height of 2 feet you should allow for splash at a distance of 3 feet in all directions and so on.
This will vary depending on the size rock (smaller rock, less splash) used to disguise the surface of the reservoir and will also depend on the water flow.

Step one hiding the basin. I still need to level it and place the waterfall. My other question what will help prevent garden snakes from being attached to this? As I was covering the basin a garden snakes was running away. Thanks

I think I found 2 other locations. Just deciding best spot. I think burying the basin is a better idea in the lawn and build rock around it. Building it in top of the stone I would need to cement it. What should I do in the winter as far as storage? Thanks

I need to work on the water escaping once I turn it off but it was getting late so I will return. Plus I didn't realize the basin is too full.
