JW ..i think the pot is about a 10 inch one .. but it is kinda in a hard spot in the pond to take a look to see what is is doing..when i got it it looked likeit had been in the pot for a while . i got 2 pots of lillies off the guy i got my fish from they looked liked they had been in there for a while but then again the guy was the kind to drain and clean his pond every fall .. itis still throwing off flowers and doing good .. i just had noticed some small pads and then see the post here about them so i was curious ..ill have to look at them the next time the water will have to be drained some. I think when we get the fountain hooked up .. thanks for the info ..

Ok, I'll keep that in mind. First have to make sure they all survive my un-gentle separation techniques.

Lilies are pretty tough, bet yours will do just fine.
When I divided mine I took a knife and cut the tubers cut the roots, the ones I kept are growing great and blooming, from what I hear from ones I sent them to they are doing great there also.

I used the hose to rinse what clay was around the roots off first.

So when you sent, did you trim EVERYTHING off?

I trimmed any real long roots, left 6-8 inches or so of root, sometimes if there was a real nice root, long I left that. Cut off any excess tuber, leaving 3 inches or so of tuber sometimes less with a good growing end. If there where those little bud's / eyes left them. Some of the ones I kept where tiny starts, they have leaves and great flowers now.

Stuck them in plastic bags with a wet paper towel, boxed and sent.
