Over a year ago, I placed some water flocculants into 2 of my 3 fish ponds to clear up some suspended algea.

Since then there has been constant filtration and many partial. Even semi entire water changes.
However, these same two ponds are now seemingly unable to support plant life. The plants do not thrive.
Have I already answered my own question? Is it a byproduct of the flocculant that is the culprit?

The size and type of pond could be a factor, it's condition and design. Charcoal can help remove chemicals from the water
