Wall pouches ok to use in tubs?

A lot of ponders here do straight sides because of critters so they can be hung off the side of the pond .I also use them in my filters sometimes to contain roots on plants .Easy to pull them out and trim what ever fine roots get out of the screening .Thank you I call myself cheap but thrifty and with ponds sometimes you need to think outside the box
