It would definitely be better pond design if the whole run from waterfall down to skimmer was downhill.
And LOL, if I'm the only person on the board who has to clear water lines...
I appreciate the tip, opening the pond to a cracked skimmer box a few years ago was not my favorite thing.Your skimmer must be a lot bigger than mine! Mine is a pool skimmer I can fill it with just one kitchen garbage bag and weigh it down with some rocks.
I don't use a aerator, I put in the pond breather and in the shallow end of the big pond I put in a small pump to keep some ice free area for the birds.Now if my aerator can survive the subzero winter here I'm set.
