Quick update on my first attempt last night:
I started to pull out the plants from the small pond. I managed to cut away most of the "lilly" leaves from one bit of it.
I have managed to pull out two separate sets of roots! It's strange the plant has really dug itself into the pond.
There is one more set of roots still left in the small pond. This last set seems to have spread to the bottom of the small pond and grown into the horrible silt/muck at the bottom. I tried to pull the lot out last night, but it's very heavy. I'm going to need a hand to lift the whole lot out. I'm having to hack most of the plant away in order to reduce the sheer weight of it!
Once the plant is out, how do I go about taking the water out of the pond? Should I scoop it out with bucket or pump it out?
