I'm partial to the Tom Baker series. That said, I would love to see some pics of your pond. I agree with removing as much debris from the bottom as you can, and a net over from early fall to late spring will serve to prevent too many leaves from falling in during the leaf falling time of year.
My daughter worked with a person who had a sonic screwdriver, signed by Tom Baker. :D
There's a Goldfish species named after Tom Baker? Wow ........ :)

Cheap comets. 50 cents each. They are just carp with body paint!
i would have a pond with no elbow room what so ever if i had bought all shubunkins for what i have dumped into koi, but i will say koi are much smarter and remember not to go over the negative edge again. and again

Koi would be a waste of good money as the heron would have a free for all in her pond w/no net. Goldfish are cheap, got 12 feeder fish for a dollar 20+ yrs ago but of course they have gone up in price now like everything else. I do love the calico coloring of the Shubunkin goldfish if you want some nice looking goldfish. If you don't care what they look like then just get plain ole cheap orange type feeder goldfish from the pet store.

I got some Comets to replace the Fantails that I lost last year. So one Fantail and three Comets, and now have myriad offspring.
