I always thought or was led to believe via American AKCA friends that there where @Mmathis however it appears we have the better service numerous fish shops[four in Plymouth alone, two in Saltash] as well as a Petsmart and a koi dealership
Then just in a 40 mile radius of Plymouth at least six more.
Out in the Countryside dealerships koi wise theres ACM koi, The tinkley koi farm, Lostwithial koi and further up the line from Britol upwards there are many others .
It seems the sheer size of your country works against you and the mentaliity of bigger is always better store wise sadly leaves little room for the small Aquatic outlets we know and love here in the UK
Bigger isnt always better as we are finding in the UK with supermarkets killing off town centres in each town and city they now blight .
It will be a very sad day if the aquatic outlets close due to Petsmart and other outlets

You got that right on Dave, the little store here is by far the best pond experience you'll have, but it's out of the way and not open seven days a week till 9pm. and their prices are a bit higher than the box stores. So what? Those in the know go here, this is THE pond shop, sure I'll go to Petsmart once in awhile but usually don't bring the camera:p
Our mentality is we get what they shove down our throats, I'd say 75% of America dislikes Walmart and misses the variety you get with smaller shops. Things are on the change and W/M should be worried. We have what we call Mid-town, an older part of town that was neglected for years is now being revamped to give the PEOPLE what they want, it's pretty cool. I remember when I first started fish keeping with aquariums there were several fish stores in town, each had it's +'s and -'s. Now there are NO tropical fish stores left in this town at all other than the big box's. Oh-yeah Mornin!

For 3 months out of the year we're dry, Anything over 95* is considered HOT we may get a few 100+ days but it's no Vegas or Phoenix, that's for sure. I'm sitting at 4580' elevation so we get plenty of winter here. Not recommended to plant vegetables till memorial day, planting seeds probably wont work, not enough time. Last Saturday we had a high of 67, this morning I woke up to 64 expected to reach 95 the high desert is so unpredictable.

We're at the same elevation here.
I think I read somewhere that a low humidity envorinment can allow for extreme temperature swings.
