Have done that stuff, the birds come to the pond and I watch the mice frolic around where there are no shrubs or brush. The woods edge is only about 35 feet from the back door and because the mountain ends there and goes uphill it makes it rough to keep the area cleared constantly as it is also about 200' wide. If only we could figure out what purpose a tick has, I may be able to deal better with the little buggers. Thanks for the info I really appreciate everyone's help!

No kidding, I have been here over two years now, only had two get on me, neither attached. None at all on my yorkie and she runs through the grass and weeks. But I do use the advantic on her.
