I got a Ryobi 12 amp recip. saw yesterday for 50 bucks. Got some pruning blades. Wish me luck! I'm going after that redbud stump today!!!!!!

I DID IT!!!!!!!! That stump is history! Now I have to work my way all through the area, getting out tree roots and simultaneously adding dirt to one side of the site. (It is very slightly sloped.) Baby steps!

Be aware -- using the saw is addictive!

Here's something funny. After buying the saw and blades, I only needed it for one root. But the saw did let me get the root out of the way, which allowed me to get my shovel down underneath. I was able to get the dirt (mud) out of the way so I could see all the other roots I needed to cut. Many of them were thin, but like cables. Super strong.
But I know I'll be using the saw more. I have a root garden.
