Thanks for posting the pictures! I love to see how the air bubbles and waterfalls keep things open.First little snow for the pond. Very late in the season for us to have measurable snow.
Yep, they have done a good job of that, I have a pretty good flow over the waterfalls and the aerator keeps a pretty big hole. I did put it at the recommended depth of about 20 inches for the winter. I will say though we have not had the usual long term deep freeze that we normally have in MA, so have only had thin ice for a few days. Looks like next week it might turn cold. We have had several nights of cold temps but then it warms up over 32 degrees. Thanks for posting the pictures! I love to see how the air bubbles and waterfalls keep things open.
@hamstermann the attached pictures give you a better idea of the ice with the waterfalls and the aerator. It has been a week where it never got above the twenties during the day and low teens at night. Nothing like the insanity in the Midwest but still cold for the pond. The waterfalls and aerator still keep the holes open. The ice looks pretty cool over the waterfall. Everything seems to be working ok, water still flowing nicely. Hard to know how thick the ice is, I would guess at least an inch. Next week will warm up a little so there will be some melting. Thanks for posting the pictures! i'm surprised your still up and runningTook a short video tonight because it looked pretty cool with the lights through the waterfalls of ice.
Such little faith in me, lol. Winter has not been bad around here other than the heavy rains last week. This week has been cold but not extreme.i'm surprised your still up and running
I'M ONLY RUNNING A 2000 k pump and the ice has built up the teens are certainly enough to reroute flow, with a couple days below 30Such little faith in me, lol. Winter has not been bad around here other than the heavy rains last week. This week has been cold but not extreme.
Well next time you build a pond I will come and help you so you dont have that problem. Little known fact lawyers are pond building experts, part of the First year curriculum in law school.I'M ONLY RUNNING A 2000 k pump and the ice has built up the teens are certainly enough to reroute flow, with a couple days below 30
