I'm wondering about how you described the construction of the lower pond. "Line the hole with concrete blocks foamed in and then covered with a liner". Why do you need concrete blocks under the liner? Just dig the hole, cover the soil with underlayment fabric, then lay the liner.

Yes, you are right, no need for the concrete blocks down there! I wasn’t sure, just read that I might need it to keep it from filling in.
