my understanding is that hydrogen peroxide is one of the chemicals released by the decomposition of barley straw- so this is kind of a shortcut. I have put peroxide in my pond a few times, and had no harm to the fish.sissy said:The things is they say use peroxide a lot but they don't mention any effects it might have on koi .Strange but it even says it helps in the hatching of eggs
if you want a complete, but complicated explanation- try this! It is long, but very informative.Mr Magoo said:Ok, so this is where my head starts spinning. Your saying that the bio filter has nothing to do with destroying the algae? Nothing to do with keeping your pond free of algae? In my intro I mentioned how my pond crashed and was pea soup. The only thing I did was add more bio media. Did not add any more plants. So why did the water clear in two days.
