i couldn't do that, we all adore him, my grandkids love him, they stroke him all the time and they love to feed him, and he freaks our cats out, if i can figure out how to post a video of him i will post one, he's an amazing creature, i just wish he would spend more time on the bottom like he's supposed to.

just to give an up-date, i'm still feeding prawns as he is still refusing to feed on the bottom, does anyone else have the same thing going on with their sturgeons?

Angler,

I hear that having a sturgeon in your pond is fairly popular over in the UK. Don't they get many times bigger than a Koi?

does he take the prawns from your hand ? as i wonder if he is getting all his diet needs from just prawns ..if he will feed from you you could try feeding him some of his other food that way too

he eats koi sticks from the surface around the sides, but we do hand feed him the prawns he also has worms and i assume other insects that are around on the surface, to answer the question about size, i've not heard of any of these fish of a significant size in the uk,
