addys may be a cheaper fix as plastic welding is expensive and to find someone to do it is harder .There is no one around here that does it .I used that spray on stuff and it worked for me but other people have said it didn't work for them .I cleaned the tank really well and put it in the basement to spray the stuff on the crack inside and out and left it down there for 6 months and sprayed it a couple of times .It is a 300 gallon tank and since I got it free because it was cracked it was worth a try ,5 years now and left outside every winter .4 cans of that stuff at 10 dollars a can it would have been cheaper doing it addy's way .oh well live and learn .:)

Update on repair attempt on stock tank. I patched with PL roofing sealant and a section of liner but after 2 attempts it still leaked. The crack is in an area that has 2 curves, sidewall to bottom and inward curve for drain. I had the tank on cinder blocks under each end. I put sections of 2x12s under the front and back of the tank to support the edges and made a 3rd attempt with PL. Success! Once I removed the stress on the tank the patch held. We just moved the other tank and set it up the same way so hopefully it will continue to hold up as well.

Glad to hear! On my preforms, both cracked right at the shelf edge. The patches held, but the last winter with the cold they heaved. I dug out and tossed, now the two small ponds are liners.
