Still-brown water /amonia and nitrite too high

I wish it were as easy as asking my friend to build new filters and pumps.one. He is busy with other things too and it would have to be on his free time. So I had to bite the bullet and buy a filter with beads in it and a uv light as well. I am going to end up paying a lot, but my koi need help now. I wish I had known there was a thread about how to build your own....
You guys are wonderful help for all of us, who I am sure, ask the same questions over and over again. Thank you more than so much koiguy!!!!
