Lots of people been saying that all over the place. I did not turn mine off this winter at all. We are still kinda chilly here in PNW but I think Spring is not far off. Last year was one of the worst Spring/Summers we had here. It did nothing but rain for both seasons! Hoping for a nice warm one this year!

What is it with thunderstorms that bring the friskys out in goldfish? A couple warm days and thunderstorm got my goldfish spawning this weekend. I found a bunch of newly layed eggs on some water hyacinths I left in the pond over the winter. The plants are actually starting to grow new leaves. I noticed last year the morning after a good rain storm go the goldfish and koi all excited. Perhaps the oxygenation or fresh water, whatever it is, they like the rain.

60's today, 50's the rest of the week and 60's this weekend. Not bad for getting 12 inches of snow just last Friday. I will be prepping the pond this week to start her up with two no skippies this weekend!!! I am very excited!

Koiguy, I hope my 60 degree temps don't warrant sucking your filter backflush hose... Yuuk! I took some water out of the pond about a month ago to do a water change and since the pumps weren't going I had to do the good ol fashioned suck a hose trick. I ended up with a lot of pond water in my mouth and was not happy about it. I immidiately grabbed a bottle of tequila, took a swig and swished it around in my mouth before swallowing it, hoping it would kill and nasty critters I just drank :(

LIKE that idea pecan...........should have had some tequila around when sucking the water out of that holey gator I bought. By the time I got done repairing it I would not have cared if it leaked anymore :0000000057:
