I am pretty nerdy and spent one cold winter day tracking daily high and low temps in my area going back 40 years. I made several spreadsheets but this it the one I created tracking the last and first forst in my area:

Each group of colored bars indicates a decade.
The red line is the running average over 4 decades.
The black lines are the average for that individual decade.
The grey area indicates the 7 days before and after the average last frost.

I am hoping that since we had a later than average last frost the last few years we will have an earlier than average one this year. Keep your fingers crossed :)

Plum trees are in bloom, as well as my Rhodies. Parrot Feather in pond is starting to perk up, whilst hosting the frog eggs. Saw my goldfish for the first time in a couple weeks... only because they came to the top in the sunshine. Still can't see to the bottom of the pond. The algae is murking it up a lot. Hope I can get it cleared soon. We're expecting more rain in the next couple days and the mornings have been in the low 30's with frost on everything. Cilantro, lettuce and parsley are growing in the greenhouse. Will be planting tomatoes soon.

I just noticed my magnolia's are blooming when I went down for the mail .The 2 called betty have pink and white blooms and gosh do they have a great smell .I noticed the smell before I noticed the flowers and they usually don't bloom until April here .Peach and cherry tree's have had blossoms for a week now so means there is going to be a good crop .The longer the bloom and the bigger the bloom means great crop whoopie for me

end of march water clear beginning of april pea soup , i am guessing its from pollen though because cars windows bbq pit patio furniture is covered in green pollen , will this affect fish ? i have a barley bale in the pond from the start, fountain pumping. Water lillies thriving and other plants doing great , no algae on the liner or on the few small rocks in the water ( lilly bases)
