I know my cousin lived in the keyes of florida and she had roaches she said they were the size of large mice and hated it .She said that food was destroyed faster than you could eat it .I guess every state has it's little quirks and you just have to learn to live with it .I know NJ was the garden state and now I really know why .Fruit and veggie stands every where .Here I thought it would be great because I could grow fruit and veggies for longer ,yeh sure .dry and hot and the soil is terrible .I have added lots of manure and lime to my soil and it is still hard to grow things .The only good thing is I can enjoy my pond a little longer and we don't get much snow or really cold weather .In NJ I can remember weeks of below zero weather and winds that made it hard to even breathe .Last winter was the worse I have seen here .This winter I hope I'm more prepared .Pond and fish should be safer and warmer I hope

expensive to live there unless you plan on shacking up on the beach .My friend just sold his house there and is still looking for a place here .He wants a round house and he has been thinking of having 1 built .There are only 3 for sale here and he does not really like the lots they are on .The one has a pond and he likes that but needs updated to his standards and I looked at it with him and could see the potential but that night we watched a show about this blue ridge builder who builds some fantastic looking round houses .He was going to look at some he has built next week .

Yep would have to put a tent up in the jungle somewhere amongst the palm trees and hang out at the beach during the day. Not sounding like such a bad life to me,lol! Round house's sound pretty cool. I've seen some around now and then.

You'll have to post a picture of any that you come across in your hunting. Would be neat to see them inside and out.

It's still quite hot here. Day temps still in the high 70s low 80's. Night temps in the mid 60's. Still, the plants are 'winding down" and starting to brown. My lotus is clearly exhausted and all her leaves are turning brown. The lillies have stopped blooming and the the mint is shriveling up... I'll take out all the fish and drain all 3 pots after November 1rst, clean them out, cut all the plants back and put them in the bottom of the pot, replace the fish and tuck everyone in for the winter. I even managed, in the middle of Barcelona to attract some dragonflies this year. It was a lovely summer.....

Well my pond temp is 53 degrees, brrrrrrr :cold: . Think the other day may have been the last day I feed my fish this year. They have really started moving slower, with the exception of some of the goldfish.
