@GBBUDD other than traditional pond underlayment, is there something, “off the shelf” such as from a hardware store we could use?

I BOUGHT A ROLL from lowes I believe it was 12 x350' for $700 well worth the insurance against fido

not that i know of outside the liner yes many different products could work inside the water . none i know of

Best bet is as @GBBUDD suggested 8oz or heavier non woven needle punch cloth, the stuff is incredibly tough, it even takes a bit of work with a knife to cut it.

Scratch that, just read it is embedded with asphalt.
lol.........it says felt in the name but trust me we don't call it felt nor does it resemble felt We call that Tar Paper which is what it is and it is very week.

Best bet is as @GBBUDD suggested 8oz or heavier non woven needle punch cloth, the stuff is incredibly tough, it even takes a bit of work with a knife to cut it.
so much so i use a pair of construction scissors two blades cutting at once. your either using large rock to cover your liner that a 220 pound dog cant move ...and that's some big rocks .. or spend the cabbage on the non woven. D O N O T use woven there claws will go right between the weaves.
