Snails ?

Working on the final filter for my bio tank ,pulled TT, cover, etc. looked into bio tank and there are 6-8 small snails on some of the cylinders floating 1/2 sum-merged on the top of the tank right under where the TT was,Where the heck did they come from, and is this good or bad ? Every day some thing new ,fasinating stuff ! Feel like a kid in a candy store ,proto type still looking good ,bio FF shaping up nicely too ,snails have me guessing though.

Snails can come on just about anything. Birds that stop by for a drink, local critters. Most of the time they come in on plants that you get. I have a herd of snails in my pond. I started off with one bull frog tadpole, now I have 4 adult bull frogs and another tad. Not sure where they keep coming from, but I like em.

agreed, snails can find their way into a pond by many avenues. If you have plants that is the likely source.
