Snails and peroxide?

I was reading about peroxide for string algie controll. One thread mentioned a peroxide solution to clean snails from roots of new plants.

My question is, I have black Japanese trapdoor snails in the pond, will the peroxide harm them if i use some? I have barley bail in the pond, will that harm them?

It is not likely that the peroxide will harm the snails or any other aquatic organism unless applied directly. Hydrogen Peroxide disassociates rapidly into Oxygen and plain water, both harmless.

Speaking of snails, is there a kind of snail that is very small and black?
I just saw some black dots on my water marigold and when I looked closely, they appeared to be snail shells

Could be what is common referred to as Scale Insects. Similar to the photo below-

Could be I guess! Mine are not in a clump, just scattered here and there on the plant, and too small to see an actual snail, but when I touched on it was hard and rounded it reminded me of a snail.

Whatever they are, will they survive single digit winters?
