Skimmer for above ground pond?

So I really did not need to run my hose from my pump that sits on the bottom into a trench buried in the soil and up to my falls. Oh well think it hides better buried and hooked to a hole in the bottom of the filter falls and no problems. If ever do hopefully won't drain my pond dry. I know that's why supposed to put pump off bottom and onto ledge or crate but haven't done it..................yet.
