Wow, your pond water is so clear....mine looks like pea soup....but I'm working on it. I sent a message to two people, hopefully they get them soon. I will keep checking on your progress. You can hold him and get a good look down his throat just to be sure there isn't something stuck. Keep searching on symptoms of infections in Koi, maybe there is an infection that would make his mouth stay open like that.....
I need to do a few errands, I'll check back soon. Good luck....

Great picture! Oh my goodness! I also read that sometimes the mouth locks like that, but with your manipulation while taking the picture would have probably helped with that. I see that Koiguy is on the scene :) I'm sure you will get help now!

Gosh I sure hope something can be done for the fish. He is a very pretty one too. Usually you try the salt tx first and then go from there. I don't know much about diseases tho so sorry. I hope he makes it!

No. He's still swimming sideways and his jaw is still open. I just realized my name on here is "rad236." It's usually (and should be) "rab236." I guess I was rushing to make an account to ask the question about my koi.

He's doing a little better. He's still mostly sitting on the bottom, but now he's the right way up. He looks like he's trying to close his mouth, but it won't close all the way. I treated the water in his tank with some methylene blue in case he has some sort of infection. It's a pretty strong medicine, but it doesn't have any bad effects if it's used in the short term.

Poor Koi :(
Thanks for keeping me up to date. I still wonder if it wasn't something electric... Did you try calling that one vet that I sent the link to?
