Oh no that is awful @rubyduby and I hope the guys are ok. Wonder what happened?
UPDATE: my pond guy finally got back to me at 5:30..He said he came down with COVID for the second time and had massive headaches so he was out of it apparently….i want to thank all of you for chiming in with helpful comments. I acclimated the fish back into the pond and it was quite a reunion. The adults who went into hiding from the netting process finally came out to do a meet and greet. Then everyone swam around together and I can see that this is really a close knit family…for anyone that doesn’t think fish have feelings I beg to differ…

At least you were prepared to hold them for a while! Is there a local pond store that would like some goldfish?
I really don’t want any of my pond raised fish to wind up in an aquarium if I can help it FishGuy. And as you said at least now I will be prepared should an emergency happen. Thank you for your thoughtful advice throughout this saga:)

oh, @rubyduby , I was so hoping you'd found a happy home. I am sure they'll be fine back in your pond. I'm sending stress-reducing thoughts for you and fishes, as they swim around reuniting with their kin, and you watch them swim peacefully around the pond. And all is well ... well... they're all well, we're all well...
Thank you SarahT…I really could use the positive energy:) I don’t exactly have a low key personality so I do get stressed out easily:( As you can see from my update, it was a wonderful reunion…

Sorry this didn't work out and you had to go to all that effort for nothing. But it sounds like it might have been for the best in the end.

Enjoy watching those little ones grow. I'm sure they will thrive in your care.
