I guess it kind of depends where it is in relation to your yard and if it's "usable" space. Like would you want to sit there or just see it from the deck. I think that will help you decide what to do with it in the end.
Great comment. Not so much sitting as seeing some sort of feature(s). Thr reclaimed area is in the northwest, left, corner of the yard. Almost all areas of the yard slopes.

So many Heuchera's to choose from. I like the darkish almost black ones and those grow best in my gardens. I'm sure there are many others you might like too. Just go to a nursery and look at them and choose the ones you like. Rabbits like them too!

Thanks to everyone for your ideas and comments. Accepted a bid to open up the three trees in that area. Great!

Sadly, infuriating occurance. Doorbell rings, there stands a pool/landscape guy. Rearward neighbor told him our pool has a leak and needs repair. Clue, standing in the neighbor's front yard anyone can clearly see that there is no more pond. Three weeks ago I even told the neighbor exactly what we are doing. The terribly whatever neighbor told the pool/landscaper the the leak in our pool is flooding his yard. Cathy told me to chill so I will remain a nice guy.

Pool..............

The four tree canopies are open so plenty of natural filtered sunlight to support grass and greenery. Our initial plan for a special lawn design that quickly became an expensive endeavor has changed to a lawn more in line with original site. In other words we will work with what we get. A bit embarrassing to admit but the time and strength for involved, complicated creations is no more. Whatever the outcome it will get some sort of a special touch. Photos of the recent recovery and upcoming creation will be posted.

Thanks everyone.
