Skimmer is in and the contractors are completing the stone patio today. Rain is in the forecast (we have been dry for nearly 2 weeks) and that mat save me a lot of work and water washing rocks, settling dust, etc. Some photos are attached.

Photo 1 The stone work is complete around pond edge.
Photo 2 I have some water circulating to check for leaks in cascade area. Used 4 cans of foam today chasing small leaks. These were not leaks in the liner, it was water finding a shortcut.
Photo 3 Gravel patio in foreground. Gravel will extend around entire pond.
Photo 4 & 5 Underlayment and DGA were placed on soil and compacted prior to gravel placement

Porch project is next, new screens, replace rotted floor joists, new porch decking, new steps, etc.

Still to go on pond, washing all construction dirt out of pond, final plumbing connections, filling with water, planting and stocking.

i'm still amazed by the amount of rock! The doc is right, laying stone like that so that it looks natural is definitely an art and talent. Guide your workers with the laying out of the stone.

Here are some recent photos, the pond is finished, I had to reset the skimmer but that is in place. I had to track down a few leaks, got that done (if there is a hole or a crack, water will find it). I don't have all the planting completed, the weather got HOT, so I'll wait till fall. I need to get a swing gate check valve, the valve I installed is spring loaded and is causing some back pressure thus slowing the flow.

The prior pond needed more rocks (and a better liner) but I definitely wanted more rocks (boulders). I've seen some really nice ponds with smaller rocks but I've also seen many ponds with piles of small rocks. I wanted substantial rocks and luckily our little farm has an old quarry site with many fabulous rocks. So I sent the contractor with his backhoe to the farm to gather rocks before he came to build the pond.

Thanks for all the compliments.
