THEY COME WITH ONE or mine did, but for $10.00 you might as well get 2 and have them. $139.00 for the one you bought?

Ah....Weigands, I love their plants and it was a nursery I always went to when I lived in MI, but they are expensive! Glad to see you found a UV clarifier for a good price, I was lucky enough to snag one at Lowes in the fall on sale for $60......

I just stopped by to say that I cannot believe the difference that this UV clarifier has made to my pond. It is crystal clear!

I'm quite shocked, and so is my husband. He was b*&#ing about me spending the money for it, but after seeing the pond he said it was well worth the money.

I can't answer that. All I know is that my water is clear and all my levels (nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, etc) are perfect. I add good bacteria to the water.

Nah. Most of your beneficial bacteria is not free floating in the water, but rather growing on the surface of something (liner, rocks, plants, filter media, etc). This is why filter media can be anything with a lot of surface area available. UV shouldn't harm your biological filtration in any way. Unless of course you are shining the UV into your filter some way. HTH. :bouncycig:
