I've decided to buy a UV clarifier for my pond. Can't seem to get rid of the green water (not floated algae). I think the water was clear for a week last season and that was it - constant battle to keep it clear.

Anyway, I've started searching for a UV clarifier and cannot believe how expensive they are. I'm not sure what kind are best (submersible or non-submersible). Can anyone steer me in the direction of a good UV clarifier that works well for a 1200 gallon pond, and preferably not TOO expensive. I don't mind so much spending the money if I know it works well.

Thanks

Laura

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I don't have a Lowes close by, so I'll look it up on the internet. Thanks again!

I replace mine every spring, but folks like koiguy will tell you that if you turn 'em on for a few weeks and turn 'em off when the water is clear, you can get 14-18months out of them. I run mine all summer, so I replace each spring.

Ok, thanks. $30 every Spring isn't so bad. Lowes does not carry this item in the inventory online. I called and it would cost me $75 to have it delivered from their nearest store!! I don't think so. I'm amazed at the differences in price on this item at other websites. One place had the same exact item for $230! So now I'm in search for one at a decent price. Lowe's was definitely the lowest price.

Thanks, but I have to find the actual uv clarifier first - otherwise I'll have to buy a brand other than Tetra.

I just bought one on Ebay. Thanks - do you know if the unit comes with a bulb, or do I need to buy that right now too?
