If you are bringing the fish indoors depending on the temperature is how you would feed the fish, out-door fish in the winter will need a lot less and will need wheatmeal as there materialism slows down.

Last question hopefully, LOL. Im also in the market for a pump. Being low on budget should I just do an internal pump that I can just bring inside when the weather starts to turn cold? I feel it would be easier to set up both ways. If so I was looking at the Tetra DHP 3600, it pulls like 200 watts and is pretty cheap. I was looking at the sequence 750 3600 but being external that might be a little much on the teardown. If worst comes to worst, I can maybe do the Tetra this year and save up for the Sequence through the winter. Then in spring ill keep the Tetra for a just in case in the summer and use it in the winter.

Just a thought.... what do u guys and gals think??

my basement pond is 800 gals, my outdoor is 1200gals. my basement filter is 55 gals, the outdoor filter is 70 gals. my basement is run solely on a 1000gph Tetrapond pump, and outdoors is a 1200 gph Tetrapond.....when youtr fish stay outside you dont feed them at all once the water gets under 50* f spring and fall cooler water foods are high in wheatgerm for the fishes slowed digestion. indoors this is not a concern. your only consideration is your systems ability to maintain water quaslity. your still gonna have to do water changes and maintaince just like outside.
p.s roadrunner meant metabolism...not materialism, at least i hope so...i do know my fish arent materialistic.lol
