its hard to get a becket here in the uk drdave ...and shipping costs are huge ...i can get laguna here, but im getting confused with imperial gallons and us gallons they do a 900 or a 1500 us gallon pumps would the 900 be ok for a 650 imperial gallon pond ...this is doing my brain in trying to work it all out as i can only order online and dont want to end up getting the wrong pump ..i know its only a tiny pond compared to most of yours ...and will probably give me more worries because of that so i do want to get things are right as possible

alsoi have an old bioforce filter that has a uv light in it ...could i conect that before my drum so i could use the uv in it ..if i take the foam things out ...was thinking would save me from having to buy a new uv ?

You are asking the wrong person about UV, I personally think they are a waste of money. If you had a salt water aquarium, I would say smart investment. 43 years ago when we were developing the UV, they were intended for saltwater and in my opinion they still are.

I don't use UV and my ponds are in full sunlight with no pea soup, ever.

you could always set the pond up and see how you do without the UV first. If you find you need it, you can then just add that filter in-line afterward.

still havent started work on the drum ...i keep looking at all the ways to do it on here and i kinda like the one newday is doing ...mainly cause it looke the easest and its made with mainly just pond hose, only thing is as mine is a raised pond and the inlet to his is at the bottom of the drum will it work as my pump hose will be coming over the top of raised wall and would need to go down to almost ground level to enter the drum ..im thinking that might make too much work for the pump ...what do you guys think ?
i dont want to make holes in drum till im sure of what im doing !
