Look!!! I got a new floating globe light for the pond and I got all the other underwater lights up and running tonight!! So very cool, having a glass of wine by the pond tonight! I LoVe my PoND ;)

You can see in some of the pictures the gushing water is creating a ton of bubbles from the new big pump that I hooked up. I bought that pump a couple years back on a really cheap sale, and decided to use it instead of the smaller one. Every year things seem to get bigger, fish got bigger, so I needed bigger pump. Soon I may need a bigger pond cause those Koi just keep getting bigger and fatter!

Some pictures of the botton pond from just today. In the shallow areas around the Sweet Flag, you can see a small goldfish sunning in the hornwort and roots from the sweet flag. The sweet flag is mostly now just a large root ball and you can see the roots sticking out in every direction. I have the large sweet flag marsh in this pond, not the yellow flag.

The fish are all mostly just the smallest goldfish and yesterday I spotted some newly hatched small water striders,, skimming the surface of the water, looking for bugs.

If you look close you can see the hornwort growing up from the floor of this pond. Some of the hornwort in the shallow sun warmed marsh is already growing well and floating.

This pond now has a duel filter and a bigger 1200 gph pump, pumping water to the middle upper level pond. (Not seen)

Geeze Colleen I tried to go out and get a life and you sucked me right back in here again! Out collecting rocks, food shopping and busy trying to get my house in shape for my lovely sisters arrival in a few weeks and now weather is picking up again w/ sun, sun, sun...........here it comes! Might even be in the 70's....................WA HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

And yes I can see your Hornwort growing which keeps reminding me that I need to go to the lake and get some of whatever that kind of plant is in there and see if it might be your lovely Hornywort :blueflower:

What?? JW you have a LIFE!! I though this forum was your Life! He he he. OK we can allow you a little free time to get rocks for the PoND, but report directly back to the forum ! Ha ha ha! ! :)

OK, if you can stand more pictures of my lovely fish and pond .... must have a zillion pictures by now, the fish look so very good, they are swiming all around, begging for food, so I could not help but give them a little nibble, they said nobody fed them all winter! My pond water is so clear and the sludge is now gone off the top and middle ponds. The sludge was swept out and into the big filters (that I have been cleaning almost daily!).

This time of the year it is good to get extra water flowing, to simulate a natural spring runoff, and rid the pond of excess waste built up over the winter. I try to net first what I can off the pond floor, and then I hooked up a bigger pump, as I thought it would be good as some of the koi seem so big this year... funny the pond is looking smaller now!

Well I'm trying to get one Colleen but this forum is addicting. Must learn to curb my appetite and w/ my sister coming up to stay w/ us I won't be on much here soon. We'll be spending lots of time w/ her searching for a new place for her to live. Will love having her here w/ us for awhile but you know there will come a time when we will all be looking for some or our own time and space...............hope we find a place fast :fingersx:
