Will be fun to see how they grow for you. I would think sedges and grass like plants would grow there. What about that water primrose that Colleen has in her pond that likes cold weather?
that was a marsh Marigold... should work but who knows, I think the moose may be eating his plants too.

Yep, I loved the shopping cart comment, too! I just got a Marsh Marigold, and if Colleen can have one, why can't you, Mitch? I remember reading or maybe Colleen said that the colder the winter, the more it bloomed.
I bet your plants will do wonderful and can't wait to see the progress.

I actually do have a yellow marsh marigold, but it struggles. Very stunted growth.
I tried a white marsh marigold last year but it didn't make it through the winter.

I recently shut off my skimmer pump and switched to aeration only until I could hook up a lower flow rate pump and I've noticed that there is a Great Grey owl that is around our yard now most mornings. (y)

I think that the owl avoided our front yard in the past because the sound of the splashing water from the pond hindered its' ability to listen for various prey.
I'm going to make sure that whatever water circulation I put in next will be quiet.
I would rather have the owl here than the sound of splashing water.:)

We watched one of our hawks fly of with a frog in its feet.

We hear owls but they seldom are in the yard.

Love the rocks, Mitch, and hope your plants do well.
My Marsh Marigold seems to have died. Colleen, does yours die all the way back (I hope), or should I consider mine fatally wounded? :(
Marsh marigold dies back in the summer. Maybe that is all that has happened.

Good to hear that, Addy! I bloomed nicely when I first got it, then slowly died. It's in a pot in the stream, so I can keep track of it. I'll leave it there until next year, see if it comes back to life.
