Maybe they are happier in colder weather, we have been sitting in the 90's for over a week now.

I bet that's it. I wonder if you shaded them a little bit if that would help?
lol I have the attitude if the plant can survive go for it, if plant dies so sorry never planted again. Putting up a shade is not in my mode of care. Then the worry when we get our horrendous storms, etc etc. They are pretty for the days they last, then another opens.

I have a gardening style of nothing gets special care. Plant and forget.

A lesson for us all. I, on the other hand, can't seem to give in and struggle to have the unattainable at great cost sometimes to my peace of mind. I might just adopt your planting philosophy. Bye for now, I have go mow the lawn...:cat:

My mom always gardened like that, see a hole put a plant in. Almost all of hers survived, a small yard in Rockville, MD

We have almost 4 acres, don't have the energy or desire to have the perfect yard, the perfect gardens or even the perfect ponds. I planted all of our fence lines so no weed wacking, zero turn mower, mow as close as I can ow what grows there gets to stay there, except poison ivy it gets killed. A bit wild looking but the flowers / plants are all bug, bee, native bee friendly.

These are growing wild everywhere now, started out with 3 plants. The hummers love them. I let them grow where they grow.

You can see the large pond lily leaves in the back ground, my 1000 gallon pond.

Beautiful flowers. Crocosmia. My wife took these pics right off our front porch.

@GBBUDD you talking about the Forget Me Not plant? I like it and it always comes back and just clip it down when it gets weary if you want to. I just let it be tho and don't clip.

This is one of the gardens that just grows for the bees, bugs, deer, rabbits, whatever. It is around 80 feet of fence line, around 20 feet long. Comes back every year. The only thing I kill is the poison ivy. I have another garden that is a fall bloomer, also around 80 feet x 20 feet. Another fence line.

A lot of bees hang out on the flowers.

In the distance you can see a circular garden which is also wild flowers.

no but I do have a lot of mint growing and lemon grass. Love the smell when I mow some it down.
