True friends just call me Larkin
Not a floating plant but I got to thinking, Pickerel Rush puts out a massive root system, grows very well in out region and when I planted some in our natural pond years ago the ducks loved eating it. Oh and doesn't appear to be on the list. Sometimes they would eat it all the way down to the mudline and then within a week or two the plant was right back like it was before. Frog's bit does drop little budlets in the water and they come vback in the spring, I had it for a while but got tired of it as it didn't bloom and got really straggly looking in the heat for the summer. Parrots feather took over that area for me but that's a NO-NO in Alabama
