Planting a water lily in gravel

I planted a water lily in gravel yesterday, but the pads seem sort of weird, like they are all at the same place, one is on the surface, one is flipped, sort of like tangled?

yes they easily get tangled. yes if not in the same orientation they will be upside down . give them a day or two and they will right them selves

LOL, I am convinced that there is a little water lily fairy that comes out at night…..that’s purpose in life is to tangle lily stems.

They must have stopped at my house the other night spider lilies. popped over night that made it from last year and I thought they werea zone 8 plant I'm 6.
As did the fairy Lilly. Love those.
