i think i may try to buy another, but never knew what it was

i got this plant two years ago at a local pond store clearance where they put a few things in a pot and sell them together. the pot was just advertised as "marginals". i put it in this strawberry pot and was pretty happy with it. i left the pot in the pond over the winter and was surprised to see it sprouting again (glad i was lazy and never took it out) it started to come out the other holes and was even fuller.

but i think with this past winter it didn't make it. i've been watching it but seeing little if any sign that it's sprouting again. if it doesn't, i want to replace it 'cause i liked it a lot. i just need to know what to ask/look for. thanks.

Imagine my surprise when I realized the natural ponds in our neighborhood are full of pickerel weed. I won't be buying this one again!

I don't know where you're located, but our pickerel weed hasn't shown any signs of growing yet. So maybe too soon to give up on it.
