Pictoral update on the mini pond that took forever to cycle

Lulu, I would suggest to at least bring the fancies in. They don't like cold weather. By the time you heat it and/or run an airstone, it might be easier to bring the whole thing in, and yes you won't have to jump start the bb again!

You got me worried again about my pair of Orandas. I'm fully confident that even my mear 22"deep pond won't be freezing solid this coming winter, but will they be suffering in hardship in a dense 4°c in January on our sandy Sefton West Coast
