Pics - Pics - Pics - 2022 - Part 2
I greatly appreciated all of the comments and likes I received in
my last post, and in that I tried to pick the best shots to post,
I still had a bunch of good shots that never made the cut. So,
here is part 2.
In the original post, the lady holding the fawn is my better half and life long love.
We celebrated 50 years together recently.
Here is the same little buck named Sage at his temporary home a few weeks after we gave him
to the rescue center. They have minimal human contact and a total of 7 of them
were released in early September on a huge tract of private land that has no hunting.
The lady at the rescue center kept my wife updated through out the summer. Good deed done.
A recent pond pic
This pond pic was taken the first part of September a day
after I added some more Aquashade pond dye. It cuts down on
the wave length of light that promotes algae and weed growth.
Bufflehead Ducks
Blue Heron
Hooded Mergansers
Indigo Bunting
Rose Breasted Grosbeak
Nuthatch
Tufted Titmouse
Yellow Shafted Norther Flicker
Brown Thrasher Feeding Her Young
Eagle
Pouncing on a mole
Wood Duck/s
Toms Putting On Their Puffy Shirts To Impress The Ladies
Branch Licking Behavior By The Twin Bucks
A doe on high alert - When they stomp their front hove, they leave
a garlic smell on the ground that alerts other deer. I'm not sure
what had her so nervous other than her twin fawns were behind her,
and other bucks are sometimes considered a threat. Possibly a coyote
or two could have her reacting this way as well. She watched the woods
intently for about 5 minutes before going back to grazing on the sweet
clover and other varieties of plants they love.
I purposely plant food plots of plants they love to browse on and they keep it mowed down
almost to the ground. It lets me watch the local herd daily which varies from
a dozen to up to 30 or more when they are yarded up in the winter.
Doe - Turtle
Bunny - Black Squirrel
"Live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard
Oh Lord, why don't we?" Paul McCartney - Ebony and Ivory
More of Wife's Artwork
Rock Art - Acrylics
The frog and turtle are smaller rocks sitting atop the waterlily painted rock.
She has been using fine tipped brushes with the acrylics, so I just ordered her
a large set of extra fine tipped acrylic pens for her upcoming birthday.
Pet Portrait - Rock Art - Acrylics
Acrylics on Tile
Pastels - I'm always amazed at her finished pet portraits with
pastels. These take her quite a bit longer than the acrylics.
