Thank you very much for your support. It seriously means a lot to me right now. Life's been throwing a few other curve balls lately and I'm kind of worn down as well as worn out.
You're right. I do have all winter and even spring. I had set an artificial goal of having the liner in by Dec. 1, but it just isn't going to happen. Meanwhile, the fish are happy and the water quality is staying stable in the two tanks. I've got a heater in the garage for really cold nights.
I really don't much like wind. and we had a major blow--95 mph over on the coast and up to 50 around here. completely tore up two separate tarps and blew down two bird feeders.
Anyway, what I decided to do today, after cleaning up the mess, was cut up the last tarp so it only covers the side walls. I want to protect them, but the bottom can collect water and I'll pump it out. It remains to be seen if the tarp in this cut out state will survive the winds. We're supposed to get more of it later in the week.
As for gallonage, I don't know. I'm going to guess between 4500-5000 gallons particularly since I reclaimed that 3 inches lost with the east side being high. I did splurge on a water meter so when I fill it I'll know.
BTW, I was thinking of starting some kind of loaner program on this site. I have both a flow meter (for 2 in. pipe) and a water meter. After the initial fill and the first one or two water changes I'll have the numbers dialed in and these meters will sit on a shelf. I'd be happy to lend them out--I'm thinking shipping would be significantly less than the meters.
Below are the latest pics, after the clean up. Boy was it a mess. should have taken a picture of that. The wind and the tarp had actually pulled 5 of those landscaping stones down into the pond. and a ton of leaves.
