Remember beepers? I had a foreman who would carry a dead battery with him, which he installed in whatever beeper he was given that day. If anyone complained that they had been trying to get him all morning, he'd check the beeper, and mumble something about the damn batteries going dead too fast! He swore me to secrecy, but since he's retired too, I should be OK!

beepers were a pain .You then had to find a phone to call back and now that phone booths have disappeared we would all be in trouble .Plus no help if you broke down on the road .

We just used them in the plant; when the beeper beeped, you were supposed to get in touch with your office, But still a PITA!

Even when I was working phone calls on cell phones were for emergency only or work related .If it rang at home it meant work was calling and if it rang at work it would scare me thinking something happened at home .After cell phones came IU could not hide from my bosses .DARN THINGS :grumble:
We have 300 minutes on our phones, used about 30 in the last three weeks. Just don't talk on the phone much to anybody.

agree real hard to do forum stuff on a phone, tiny tiny words, can't see the threads when typing. Tried it a little, not worth the effort, even tabs make it a little hard too. Much prefer a laptop with a key board lol

I KNOW THE FEELIN'...i have read threads on my phone but, i may have posted twice. no pics, dont even know how!! my Compaq Presrio..the hard drive bit the dust...now i'm on an old emachine. that i have to disk boot every day to use. one of thesedays i'll go get a hard disk for one of them and have a "newish" computer. only i'll upgrade the hard disk a notch or two. $100 will make either one better than when it was new,
