Oxygenator plants in winter

All of my iris I planted in the ground and all of them were free from a friend and was just looking out side to see if any others are blooming ,They may pop open today as long as the temps hold out ,it is supposed to be 54 today.We got tons of rain last night and the pond is full

My friends uncle is a farmer and he uses this in some of fields and around the edges. Not sure if it is a food source for birds or not.

According to a net search the birds like it. The yellow finches go crazy over my wild flower fields, at times 100's of them feeding on the seeds the flowers produce.
