A bit more information. The bushes behind the pond will reach about 6'. Some along the neighbor property border could grow to 8'. Basically, heights and shapes throughout the back yard. All will remain in their natural shape as much as possible. No formal look. The talented designer created a comfortable informal theme. The small pond side deck and existing wooden walkways will keep their true worn finish. The cedar fence, corner screens and entry way will fade to a silver gray. Honestly, we have not decided what we will do when the cedar changes color. The deck re-build will somewhat mimic the entryway. Info on the front yard later.
The driveway lesson. Unless you can commit yourself to continual upkeep do not have a finish applied to your concrete driveway. Worst yet, having the finish removed is costly and requires the skills of a specialist. I am using a high powered environmentally friendly chemical stripper paste to remove the old applied finish from the sidewalk adjunct to the driveway. This is immediately necessary to comply with a compliant filed with the city code compliance department. The compliant is racially motivated. City code department rep is a really nice and understanding lady. She's giving me all the time I need.
Again, thanks everyone.
